Completely frustrated

For weeks, we have either NOT gotten newspaper OR it was it was laying at the bottom of our lane.

We pay for 7 days of home delivery, not street delivery. Expect paper to be on front porch, as it always was, for 25 years.

Repeated calls to your Philippines customer service number have yielded no improvement, even though I was told issue was escalated.

I have emailed the circulation dept., the newsroom, the editor, and 2 senior editors, expecting our issue to be addressed. Not only was it not addressed, but no one responded, despite my plea for a response.

Help!!!

REPEATED Missed home delivery of my newspapers.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I signed up for and paid for a 6 month new subscription for home delivery of The Morning call. It took 9 days to receive my 1st paper after repeated calls to customer service in that 1st week.

I finally received delivery for a while . I received papers sporadically since then I have called customer service mor x than I can count. I am sick of calling and I didn't receive a paper last Monday I called got it on Tuesday.received Wed Thursday Fri Sat .. NOT SUNDAYS 3 30.

This is horrible service.. I do NOT LIKE CALLING once a week on average for missed papers.. it should just continue being delivered with NO interruptions!! I am disgusted with this customer service!

I was an Express Times customer for decades of course had missed papers occasionally but nothing like this unexcusable service. Someone needs to fix this .I am paid in full until August. It was a greatly reduced new customer introductory offer. Is this the service you get for it?

I even SPOKE to the person in charge of distribution I thought that would have fixed it. Obviously not.

Fix it PERMANENTLY THEN BOTH SIDES don't have to deal with me calling you! Thank you.

Totally biased paper. Deceptive billing practices. Don't seem to understand that a subscription is a contract. They change the terms whenever they want.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My one year subscription ended after 5 months due to charges for special issues that I said I didn't want, and delivery charges!? I have been arguing with them about this for 4 months.

Stop papers for vacation

I want to have my papers held for one week, but I want the week's papers delivered on the last date. I was told that this is not possible.

Why? Also, I asked for our delivery person, and they refused to give that to me. Help! 1433 Wetherfield Dr., Allentown, PA.

This is important to me, so please don't ignore me.

Worst customer service ever

The morning call delivery service is the worse thing ever

And when you call they always say they are sorry

But you never get the paper

This is what happens when you outsource communication with your customers

Their online subscription services are abysmal.

The link in the evening update email often takes you to the exact same content as the morning edition. They lack any semblance of quality control.

E.g. The link on today's evening update went to a Page Suite screen with zero content.

Clearly, no one is guiding this ship. Sad actually, used to be a top shelf publication.

Morning Call Customer Service Representative Refused Refund

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user Dec 13, 2024

I have contacted The Morning Call and they refused to help me out.

Original review Nov 13, 2024

Called the Morning Call Customer Service Representative Refused to Refund me the $270 for the newspaper that was charged today. The Customer Service Representative named Taylor said that she was done speaking with me and hung up.

I am a senior citizen who can no longer afford the newspaper. They just charged my credit card today and told me that there was nothing that they could do for me.

Dispute the charge with your credit card company immediately. They have charged my card twice without my authorization. Ridiculous.

Observations on two features of your puzzle page

My wife and I enjoy your daily cross word puzzles. We have noticed, however that the creator of the "TV Crossword" has changed.

I commented to her that Ricky Cruz' style of English mirrors that of the LA Times Sunday Crossword creators. I looked him up and found that he is from Southern California! I find the idioms used for clues as well as the answers in both of these offerings seem like a foreign language to me. Any chance you could find a source that mirrors our PA language usage?

I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.

Unconscionable Price Increases

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user May 21, 2024

I have had no response from The Morning Call.

Updated by user May 18, 2024

Customer service is not a term I would apply to dealings with The Morning Call. The company appears to have no employees other than those who control billing.

Original review May 14, 2024
I would like to talk with someone about the subscriber rate for The Morning Call. I have several questions and issues.

First, why do you charge subscribers more for the newspaper than it would cost to buy the paper at a newsstand? In the store, the daily paper costs $4.00; but you propose to charge me $6.64 a day when I'm buying it every day and have done so for at least 40 years. Second, you've been increasing the price almost every couple of months for years. And you've accomplished this in every imaginable way: increasing the daily cost, reducing the number of days covered by the invoice without reducing the total invoice cost at all, reducing the days per invoice by charging extra for supplements that no one ordered or wants, and charging $7.00 just for sending a bill.

At the same time, the newspaper keeps getting smaller and covering less. It's almost like your goal is to become content free while charging more and more as you move toward that goal. Third, our latest invoice has a price increase of $82.50, which makes for a 42% increase over the daily subscriber cost that will be in effect until June 14. How can you justify this?

Fourth, there doesn't appear to be an actual newsroom connected to this newspaper any longer. There's no office one can visit or call. The only contact available is subscription management, which appears to be located in India, Myanmar, or some such place. Fifth, the subscription management has lowered my latest invoice from $325.49 to $236.00 – or have they?

Am I likely to get a new bill after only three or four weeks, instead of every seven weeks? I can tell you that I will never pay more than $236.00 for a seven-week subscription in the future.

And if that means saying goodbye to The Morning Call, so be it. Have someone call me to talk about these issues, if there are still any employees at The Morning Call.

No paper for one month

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I am a long time subscriber to the Allentown Morning Call. Since February 9,2024 we have received the paper 9 day which leave 22 days we didnt get a paper.

I have call your customer service daily to report this problem and it seems to fall on deaf ears as NO action is taken to rectify the situation. All your customers service people says is that we can read it online. I am PAYING for a printed copies and NOT received this service. Now you have the audacity to send a bill which states please pay promptly.

Why dont you follow your own order and please deliver the paper promptly! If this situation doesnt rectify its self I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau about your delivery and billing practice. I am expecting a reply as how you plan to rectify this situation.

My contact information is Andrew Toth 1827 W Cedar Street Allentown Pa 18104. Email is toth1827@***.com Thanks you for your promo attention to this ongoing situation.

Delivery complaint

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The delivery of our Morning Call newspaper is a TRAVESTY!!! Our former carrier always had the newspaper delivered by 7:00 AM!

She no longer delivers our route. With the new carrier we are lucky if we receive the paper by 9:00 AM! This is totally unacceptable!!

Some days the carrier throws it on our driveway but many days it lays in the gutter of the street. And common Sense would have any normal person to put the paper in our mail box slot on rainy days!

But NO.this idiot carrier throws it in the driveway and we often read a soggy mess of a paper !! Again.UNACCEPTABLE!

I have had to drive to the nearest Wawa or grocery store to buy a paper on many many days!

UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Something must be done to remedy this problem! Or our 7 day subscription will be canceled !

I expect a reply to this email and this horrible situation!

Morning call print on 3/17/24 had red lines down the obituary page. I did not get to speak with anyone yet. I was directed to a different phone number where I then left a message.
